For further information and application form please download the APA Grant Brochure

Purpose of the Grant

The Alan Gray Student Research Grants Scheme was established by the Australian Population Association in 1998 to encourage and support student research in the field of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population studies. The Scheme aims to provide small amounts of funding to assist with the purchase of data, field work, or other research expenses for defined research projects on population-related topics.

Eligibility

The scheme is open to bona fide students enrolled at an Australian tertiary institution. It is envisaged that grants will mainly be applied to support students undertaking research by thesis at Honours, Masters or possibly Ph.D. level, but other student research projects will also be considered. Projects must focus on some aspect of Australia’s Indigenous population.
