Date & Time
01 October 2026 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM
Timezone
(UTC+10:00) Australia/Sydney

Presenter: Professor John Lynch

Abstract

This presentation will introduce the South Australian Better Evidence Better Outcomes Linked Data (BEBOLD) – Person Level Integrated Data Asset (PLIDA), which brings together state and Commonwealth administrative data. Structured around successive South Australian birth cohorts since 1991, the platform contains information on approximately 1.5 million individuals, including children, siblings and parents, drawn from government data sources spanning health, education, social welfare, taxation, child protection, justice, housing and homelessness.

The presentation will cover aspects of how the data asset is used for descriptive, predictive and causal epidemiology, that harnesses the power of whole population administrative data to inform policy, practice and evaluation of government and non-government programs.
