2026 Borrie Prize Now Open
04th February 2026
Submissions for the 2026 Borrie Prize are now open.
First instituted in 1984, the Prize was established to encourage interest in population-related studies among undergraduate students at Australian tertiary institutions and to introduce them to the Australian Population Association (APA) and its mission. In 1987, the Prize was renamed in honour of Emeritus Professor Borrie, the APA’s patron. The postgraduate category was added in 1988, and since then, the Prize has been awarded to around 50 students, many of whom have gone on to successful careers in population-related fields.
