Membership

The Australian Population Association welcomes applications for membership from any person with an interest in population issues. Three types of membership are available:

  1. Individual memberships

  2. Student memberships – open to full-time students at recognised educational institutions

  3. Concessional memberships – open to people who are not currently in full-time paid employment.

NOTE: Memberships no longer include subscription to the Journal of Population Research. If you wish to add a journal subscription to your membership (additional $100 per year, variable according to exchange rate) please email secretary@apa.org.au.

The APA provides a number of benefits to its members:

  • Conference – The APA’s biennial conference is being held in Sydney, New South Wales from 29 November to 2 December 2016. APA members are entitled to a subsidised rate.

  • Events – The APA holds regular seminars on contemporary population topics across the country. APA members are entitled to a discount on the standard rate.

  • Demoz – the official newsletter of the APA, which is published in June and December.

  • APA Update – an email newsletter sent out on a fortnightly basis that includes information on upcoming events, job opportunities, international correspondence and population in the media.

  • Twitter – the APA tweets from @OzPopulation

Points to note:

  • There is no surcharge on international-based members.

  • Corporate and Library memberships are no longer available. Enquiries regarding journal subscriptions can be made directly to the journal publisher, Springer.
