The Australian Population Association welcomes applications for membership from any person with an interest in population issues. Three types of membership are available:
Student memberships – open to full-time students at recognised educational institutions
Concessional memberships – open to people who are not currently in full-time paid employment.

The APA provides a number of benefits to its members:
Conference – The APA’s biennial conference is being held in Sydney, New South Wales from 29 November to 2 December 2016. APA members are entitled to a subsidised rate.
Events – The APA holds regular seminars on contemporary population topics across the country. APA members are entitled to a discount on the standard rate.
Demoz – the official newsletter of the APA, which is published in June and December.
APA Update – an email newsletter sent out on a fortnightly basis that includes information on upcoming events, job opportunities, international correspondence and population in the media.
