Membership

The Australian Population Association welcomes applications for membership from any person with an interest in population issues.

The APA provides a number of benefits to its members, including the opportunity to join a network of demographers and population researchers, policy makers and practitioners. Regular updates and newsletters are provided to members to keep them abreast of the latest developments in the field. APA members are also entitled to subsidised rates to the APA's biennial conference and other events. The next conference will be held in Canberra in December 2022.

Four types of membership are available:

  1. Individual memberships

  2. Student memberships – open to full-time students at recognised educational institutions

  3. Concession memberships – open to people who are not currently in full-time paid employment

  4. Retired professionals

APA receives membership dues via the squareup.com secure platform. From the list below please choose the link that best suits your circumstances. You will be asked for your name, credit card details, email address, and phone number. A receipt will be sent to your email address. Once you have paid, please let the secretary@apa.org.au know which option you have chosen and the duration of your membership.

Online payments streamline administration. However, if you are unable to pay online, please use the APA New Membership Form or APA Membership Renewal Form to pay by direct deposit. Please return the completed form to secretary@apa.org.au.
